2017 MARUTI S-CROSS - CROSSOVER OF THE MONTH
The all-new 2017 S-Cross was recently launched in India at the starting price of Rs. 8.49 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi). The car features the Smart Hybrid technology which is offerred in all the variants as a standard feature.
The new S-Cross 2017 is available in four exciting variants - Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The base variant Sigma is tagged at Rs. 8.49 Lakh while the top variant is available at Rs. 11.29 Lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi prices).
Both the outside and the inside of the new S-Cross have undergone alterations. The vertically slated grille at the front, new projector headlights, new tail lamps and restyled bumpers gives it an entirely fresh look. Inside you will find an all new colour scheme that is inspired from premium saloons. Moreover, the dashboard and instrument panel designs have also changed in the new S-Cross 2017.
Under the hood, the 2017 S-Cross gets 1.3 Litre DDiS diesel engine that churns maximum power of 89 bhp at 4000 rpm and maximum torque of 200 Nm at 1750 rpm. This time surprisingly the S-Cross crossover is not offered in petrol power-train options.
NEW HYUNDAI VERNA - SEDAN OF THE MONTH
The all-new Hyundai Verna 2017 made was launched on 22nd August at the starting price of Rs. 7.99 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi). This price is applicable for first 20,000 customers, said the company and post this the prices would be revised and chances are that the Verna 2017 would get more expensive.
The design cues of the new Hyundai Verna 2017 are taken from its elder sibling, Hyundai Elantra, launched last year in India. The front profile of the car features projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights that raise the cosmetic appeal.
Under the hood, new Verna two powertrain options - 1.6 Litre Dual VTVT petrol and 1.6 Litre U2 CRDi VGT diesel. The 1.6 Litre petrol mill produces maximum power of 123 PS while the diesel Verna churns peak power of 128 PS. As far as the transmission is concerned, the entry level variants of the new Hyundai Verna come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission while the high-end variants are blessed with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
