2018 Auto Expo: Mercedes-Benz E-Class All Terrain Unveiled

Mercedes Benz E-Class All Terrain will be launched around mid 2018 and will be priced close to Rs. 65 lakh.

Mercedes Benz has showcased its E-Class All Terrain estate at the 2018 Indian Auto Expo. The car is expected to be launched in India sometime in the middle of 2018. We expect the pricing of this car to fall near Rs. 65 lakh. The Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain will compete against the Volvo V90.

Mercedes obviously wanted to make it evident that the E-Class All-terrain has off-roading credentials. This is further substantiated by the tasteful use of black plastic cladding that runs through the length of the car. All-terrain is 4933mm in length, 1852mm wide and 1275mm in height. These dimensions are the same as the standard E-Class estate which All-Terrain is based on and is sold in the international market. Where All-Terrain breaks away from its estate sibling is in terms of the ground clearance which has been increased by 29 mm to accommodate the off-roading suspension.

The interior of the All-Terrain is the same as the one offered in the estate. Even the rear seats are shared by the two cars and come in the 40:20:40 split setup which can be folded down to offer more cargo space.

Under the hood, Mercedes-Benz all terrain is offered with a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel motor which delivers a peak power output of 194PS and 400 Nm of torque. The powerplant comes mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Other features that make their way into the off-roading estate include, a rake and reach adjustable steering column, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, dual 12.3-inch screens which sit behind the front seats. Center console also gets a touchscreen which doubles as the display for the infotainment system and satellite navigation. Also found in the interior are the “All-terrain” engravings which can be found on the stainless steel and aluminum accents in the cabin along with the ones on the floor mats.
