Hyundai Cars Expected At 2018 Auto Expo

As the Auto Expo advances to its 14th edition in February 2018, car makers around the globe are all pumped up to showcase their new products for the Indian market. Hyundai, country’s second largest automaker, is looking forward to expand its customer base by displaying its best products to grab the attention of the Indian car buyers. While there will be new products on the line, a major attention is expected to be drawn from facelifts of some of the prominent cars this year for Hyundai. Hyundai Creta Facelift

With some minor design changes in the previous model, Hyundai Creta facelift is bound to garner attention this Auto Expo. Hyundai will just alter its one of the best-selling models just enough, so that it appeals to the new crowd with the promise of the same user experience which initially led to its success. Some of the cosmetic changes include a nip and tuck job on the bumpers, modified tail lamp graphics, redesigned fog lamps, new hexagonal chrome slatted grille and the recently introduced DRLs. The engine will remain the same and prices are expected to shoot at least 10% on the previous model.

After a decent season recently with Elite i20, Hyundai is trying to up its game in the premium hatchback marketspace with a facelift. The Hyundai Elite i20 Facelift will be available in 3 engine options- 1197cc dual VTVT petrol, 1368cc Dual VTVT petrol and 1396cc DOHC diesel. New projector headlamps with LED DRLs, new air-dam with chrome lining, fog lamps and R16 diamond cut alloy wheels would be some of the design changes. The prices would vary variant to variant from Rs 5.5 lakh to Rs 9 lakh.

Facing tough competition in the international EV market from the likes of Ford Focus Electric, Nissan Leaf and Volkswagen e-Golf, Hyundai is all set to launch its battery EV to the Indian consumer. Powered with a 28kWh lithium-ion battery pack, it has a range of 180km on a single charge. But it is uncertain it would be produced for the Indian marketplace with the same powertrain. India is soon expected to be a hub for electric vehicles and Hyundai wants the front seat to this show.

Hyundai Kona EV

Earlier speculations have given air to the reports that Hyundai will be showcasing the Kona with internal combustion engines. But as with most rumours, the carmaker is likely to display the full EV version at the Auto Expo. With features like automatic emergency braking, blind spot detection and rear cross traffic alert, it has secured positive customer feedback across the globe. Hyundai Kona is expected to have a longer range than Hyundai Ioniq.
