Maruti Concept Future S

Maruti Concept Future S Unveiled Auto Expo

India loves its compact SUVs and to give the masses exactly what they want, Maruti showcased its Future S concept which is an upcoming hatchback that will feature an SUV like stance. The hatchback is expected to be launched sometime later in 2018 and is likely to feature the same engine options as the Ignis.

Tata H5X Concept

One of the most impressive offerings from the Indian carmaker, Tata Motors. The H5X SUV is based on the underpinnings of Land Rover Discovery and features Tata’s Impact 2.0 design. The concept showcased was a production-ready prototype. The SUV is likely to get the same 140hp Fiat diesel engine which is also incorporated by Jeep Compass.

Tata 45X Concept

Tata’s pavilion at the Auto Expo was also the venue for 45X concept’s world premiere. This is company’s upcoming premium hatchback which will compete with the likes of Hyundai Elite i20, VW Polo and Honda Jazz amongst others. The 45X also features Tata’s Impact 2.0 design language.

Honda Amaze

The Japanese carmaker Honda showcased the next generation of its compact sedan. The all-new Amaze comes with fresh aesthetics both on the outside as well as on the inside of the car. The engine options, which were ahead of their time will be carried forward from its predecessor but the 100PS diesel mill will now be offered with a CVT transmission.

Toyota Yaris

Toyota’s sedan offering has not gained much traction in the Indian car market. The Japanese carmaker is taking another shot at changing that and showcased the compact sedan version of its Yaris hatchback at the Auto Expo. The car will be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine and we believe a diesel engine of the same size will also be offered in the car. It will rival the likes of Maruti Dzire, Ford Aspire and the all-new Honda Amaze.

Hyundai Kona

Hyundai showcased a compact SUV which the Korean carmaker plans on launching in India. The Hyundai Kona is a small SUV and will be powered by an all-electric motor. This sits well as the Indian government is pushing for all-electric mobility in the country by 2030.

Kia SP Concept

Kia is going to make its entry into the Indian market next year. With the compact SUV segment getting a lot of interest in the country, the Korean automaker will introduce its premium compact SUV which will be based on the SP concept. The concept showcased at the Expo is likely to incorporate the same engine options as the Creta, as Kia is a Hyundai subsidiary.

Kia Stinger GT

As impressive as the Stinger showcase was, it’s a shame that India will not be getting this sports sedan next year. The car features a very aggressive and sporty design and is powered by a 370bhp, 3.3-litre V6 petrol powerplant.

Mahindra Stinger SUV

Another Stinger at the 2018 Indian Auto Expo was the SUV unveiled by the Indian carmaker Mahindra. The car has been beautifully designed and features quirky elements like a semi-exposed spare wheel.

Mahindra Rexton

The Mahindra and SsangYong partnership has yielded another fruit. This time around, it’s a premium SUV which bears a Mahindra badge. The SUV will also be launched in India later this year and it’s not been confirmed whether the ‘Rexton’ moniker will be retained by the car upon its launch.

BMW i8 Roadster

BMW showcased the drop-top version of its i8 hybrid sports car at the 2018 Indian Auto Expo. The car is powered by a 374bhp hybrid powertrain and comes with butterfly doors.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain

Mercedes unveiled its off-roader estate car at the biennial event. The Mercedes-Benz E-Class All Terrain comes with plastic cladding which runs through the length of the car and sits on a tweaked suspension setup which gives the estate a higher ground clearance. To add to its off-roading credentials All-Terrain also comes with an all-wheel-drive setup and will rival the Volvo V90 Cross Country.

Mercedes-Maybach S650

The flagship luxury sedan from the stables of Mercedes made an appearance at the Auto Expo. The car will rival the likes of Rolls Royce Phantom and is loaded with every conceivable creature comfort. Under the hood, the sedan is powered by a 6.0-litre petrol powered V12 engine. The motor produces 629PS of power and 1001Nm of torque. The car was launched at the expo and features a price tag of Rs. 2.73 crores (Ex-Showroom).

Renault Trezor Concept

Renault showcased its futuristic electric sportscar concept at the motor show. The car features curvaceous bodywork which is void of any lines or sharp edges. The access to the cabin is through a clam-like mechanism in which the roof lifts out along with the windscreen in a Batmobile-like manoeuvre. French automaker claims that Trezor will make its way into production and we look forward to it.
