Top 5 bikes under Rs 80000

The transition of motorcycles towards BS6 emission norms has made the motorcycles in the Indian two wheeler market much more expensive than ever before, due to fuel injection and engine tune-ups. This has made the motorcycles, particularly entry level commuters which were running on carburetors, quite expensive in the process.

The premium end of commuters, which is priced below Rs. 80,000, has seen a number of new motorcycles as well as revisions to the already existing names. Following is a list of five best bikes priced under Rs. 80,000:

Honda SP 125

The latest entrant in the 125cc segment of commuters, the Honda SP 125 feels the most premium among all the motorcycles, for the sleek design and lengthiest list of features on offer.

The Honda SP 125 was launched as a more premium alterative to the already existing CB Shine, as CB Shine SP. However, post the BS6 era, the motorcycle was renamed as SP 125, and came with a host of visual changes and feature additions like first-in-segment LED headlamp and fully digital instrument console with gear indicator.

The Honda SP 125 sources its power from a 4-stroke, single cylinder, air cooled, fuel injected, 124cc, which is coupled to a 5-speed gearbox and makes 10.9 PS of maximum power and 10.9 Nm of peak torque.

The Bajaj Pulsar 125 might be the smallest and least powerful motorcycle in the entire Pulsar range. However, like of all its siblings in the Pulsar range, it continues to offer the best-in-class performance.

Power for the Bajaj Pulsar 125 comes from a 4-stroke, single cylinder, air cooled, fuel injected, 124.4cc, which puts up 11.8 PS of maximum power and 10.8 Nm of maximum torque, making it the most powerful motorcycle under Rs. 80,000. The engine is coupled to a 5-speed gearbox.

Matching the sporty performance of the Bajaj Pulsar 125 is its sporty design, which might be one and a half decade old, but is adorned with many sporty bits like clip-on handlebars, split pillion grab rails, engine cowl, part-digital instrument console with tachometer and backlit switchgear, all of which are exclusive to it in this segment.
