Following its tradition of showcasing new motorcycles at Ducati World Premiere every year, Ducati has unveiled two new motorcycles of this year’s event – Scrambler 1100 Tribute Pro and Scrambler Urban Motard. Both the motorcycles have been added to the Scrambler lineup of motorcycles, and come with a host of visual and feature add-ons over regular Scrambler 1100 and Scrambler 800 respectively.
Ducati Scrambler 1100 Tribute Pro
The new Ducati Scrambler 1100 Tribute Pro is based on the regular Scrambler 1100 and has been launched to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ducati’s oldest engine configuration in current existence – an air-cooled, L-twin engine.
There are a few visual differences that set the Scrambler 1100 Tribute Pro apart from the standard Scrambler 1100. The new motorcycle is finished in an exclusive colour option of Giallo Ocra, which is essentially a shade of yellow colour. The new paint shade mimics that of the Ducati 750 Sport from the 1970s. Other visual add-ons of the Ducati Scrambler 1100 are black coloured spoke wheels, a brown coloured seat, round rearview mirrors and the big ‘70s logo of Ducati on the fuel tank.
Under the skin, the Ducati Scrambler 1100 Tribute Pro remains the same as the standard Scrambler 1100. It is the only motorcycle in the Ducati’s lineup to feature the 50-year old configuration of an air-cooled, L-twin engine, which here displaces 1079cc. Coupled with a 6-speed gearbox, the engine makes 86 bhp @ 7,500 rpm of maximum power and 88 Nm @ 4,750 rpm pf maximum torque output. The motorcycle is equipped with Kayaba suspension combination, cornering ABS, cornering traction control and three riding modes, namely Active, City and Journey.
Ducati Scrambler Urban Motard
Based on the entry-level Scrambler Icon, the new Ducati Scrambler Urban Motard seeks inspiration for its visual appeal from dual-purpose Supermoto motorcycles. The motorcycle comes with a dual-tone paint option of white and orange, with bold decals on the fuel tank making it look differentiated from other Scramblers.
Other design bits like high mounted front fender, spoke wheels, wide handlebar, white plastic side cowls and chopped rear end look to make the Scrambler Urban Motard look like a proper Supermoto. However, it is a road-spec motorcycle meant for urban driving, which is evident by the presence of road-biased Pirelli Rosso 3 tyres. The Ducati Scrambler Urban Motard gets a 120/70 R17 tyre at the front and a 180/55-R17 tyre at the rear.
The Ducati Scrambler Urban Motard also is no different from the motorcycle it is based on, when it comes to mechanicals. The engine here is an air-cooled, L-twin, 803cc engine, which produces 73 bhp @ 8,250 rpm of maximum power and 66.2 Nm @5,250 rpm of peak torque output.
Will these motorcycles come to India?
Ducati currently has 1100 Sport Pro, 1100 Pro, 1100 Dark Pro in the 1100 range and Icon, Icon Dark, Nightshift and Desert Sled in the 800 range of Scramblers in India. While there are some motorcycles from the range which are not available in India, the new 1100 Tribute Pro and Urban Motard might be brought to India.
