The Mahindra XUV700 is easily one of the most anticipated launches in the world of automobiles in recent times. Needless to say, the SUV has already generated a lot of hype around it, for it marks a perfect upgrade over one of the most popular SUVs in India, the XUV500.
To make the SUV worth the wait, Mahindra has equipped the XUV700 with some really cool party-tricks to make sure it edges above the rest of its competitors. Following is a list of features which give a strong advantage to the Mahindra XUV700 over its rivals:
Led Headlamps with Auto-Booster Function
While most of the premium SUVs now come with LED headlamps as standard, the LED headlamps of the Mahindra XUV700 are bestowed with a special feature of auto-booster. As per this function, the headlamps of the XUV700 come with special auxiliary lamps, which turn on whenever the vehicle crosses the speed mark of 80 kmph in dark conditions. In addition, the XUV700 also gets LED fog lamps and LED tail lamps.
Flush-Type Door Handles
We have seen this feature already in much more premium cars from Mercedes Benz and Jaguar Land Rover. However, the Mahindra XUV700 is all set to be the first mass-market car to get flush-type outer door handles. These handles seamlessly fit into the door panels and pop out whenever the SUV is unlocked, which allows the driver to pull them to open the required door.
All of the direct rivals of the Mahindra XUV700, like MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari and Hyundai Alcazar, come with a large panoramic sunroof. The XUV700, however, has the biggest panoramic sunroof in this segment now, measuring 1,360mm in length and 870mm in width.
Adrenox User Interface
The Mahindra XUV700 will be the first SUV from the Indian UV maker to feature its all-new AdrenoX user interface as its virtual assistant. The AdrenoX works in sync with Amazon Alexa to execute a number of functions of the vehicle, such as opening or closing of sunroof, operations of music system, climate control, ambient lighting and various others.
Dual Screen Layout
The Mahindra XUV700 has a dual screen layout, much like what we have seen in models from Mercedes Benz. While the 10.25-inch full TFT colored screen behind the steering wheel is for the instrument console which has multiple modes of display, the one placed left to it is a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Dual Zone Automatic Climate Control
Another first-in-segment feature of the Mahindra XUV700 is the dual zone automatic climate control system. However, the XUV700 is not the most affordable vehicle to feature this, as the smaller XUV300 already has this feature.
Most Powerful Engines in Segment
The engine options which the Mahindra XUV700 is coming with are now the most powerful ones in the segment to which it belongs. The 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine of the XUV700 makes 200 PS of power and 380 Nm of torque. Even the 2.2-liter diesel engine is the most powerful one in its space too, with 185 PS of power and 420 Nm of torque (450 Nm with automatic gearbox).
Premium Sound System From Sony
The Mahindra XUV700 comes with a premium 12-speaker audio system specially made for the vehicle by Sony. This sound system further gets assistance of a 445W 13-channel amplifier, which help it in providing a realistic and premium 3D surround sound feel. The XUV700 is also the first vehicle in its segment to get roof mounted speakers.
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems
The Mahindra XUV700 is now the first SUV in its category to feature a set of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS0. Using a slew of radar-assisted cameras and sensors, the list of ADAS systems in the XUV700 include adaptive cruise control, driver drowsiness alert and blind spot monitoring system.
All Wheel Drive
This has to be the exclusivity of the Mahindra XUV700. While all of its rivals come only with a front wheel drive configuration, the XUV700 also has the option of an all-wheel drive system.
