Mean Metal Motors Azani Previewed, Touted to Be India’s First Electric Supercar

In the move towards electric mobility, Mean Metal Motors (MMM), an India-born auto-based start-up has revealed a few images and details of its electric super car Azani. Based on the M-Zero concept which was previewed back in 2015, the new Mean Metal Motors Azani has been unveiled as India’s first electric supercar.

The MMM Azani has been developed by a team of 22 members, which have taken care of the research and development, designing and engineering of the electric supercar. Mean Metal Motors will come up with the first drive-able prototype of the Azani by second half of 2022, with the company aiming to price it near to $120,000 (Rs. 89 lakh).

The overall design of the MMM Azani looks too futuristic with LED lighting all around, sharply designed front and rear fenders and curved and sloping roofline. The electric supercar will be made up of weight saving components like carbon fiber and aluminium, with its main chassis being an aluminium spaceframe unit.

While Mean Metal Motors has not unveiled the interiors of the Azani, the supercar is expected to look as cutting-edge as it does on the outside. Expect all modern comfort and convenience features as well as tech on board of the Azani, including full TFT instrument console and modern touchscreen infotainment unit with over the air updates.

Some of the details related to the powertrain Mean Metal Motors Azani have been unveiled as well. The supercar features will come with a dual motor setup, with one motor on each wheel giving it an all-wheel drive configuration. The combined power and torque outputs of the motors are rated at 1000 bhp and 1000 Nm respectively, thus making the Azani the most powerful car produced ever by an India-based company.

Other prominent details of the MMM Azani include a top speed of 322 kmph and a claimed 0-100 kmph sprint in just 2.1 seconds. The car will come with a 120 kWh battery pack, which will help the car to gain a maximum driving range of 550-700 km.

Sarthak Paul, CEO, Mean Metal Motors, aims to contribute in the faster developing ecosystem for electric vehicles with the MMM Azani. He believes that this new electric supercar will change the production methods of the automobile industry and bring it near to the levels of prowess the companies from the west, where the electrification of auto-industry is happening at a faster pace.
