It may be a shocker-cum-surprise to many; Tata Motors has taken the covers off a concept version of its iconic Tata Sierra SUV. Sure to lure the SUV aficionados of the country, the return of the cult vehicle may see daylight. The SUV slapped with modern and futuristic looks appears no less than any of the Freelanders or Discoverys from the Land Rover stable.

The upright butch stance and attitude to traverse anywhere on any terrain, the SUV concept is showcased as a tribute to Chairman Emeritus Ratan Tata. Featuring Impact 2.0 design language on the exteriors with Harrier-like face, it gets large air-vents and a broad bumper line.

Its ever-unique side profile with full glass amid B and C-pillar has been maintained, while the rear hints at Fortuner-like resemblance with sweeping thin LED taillights. The sturdy SUV concept stands arrogantly on the large alloy wheel setup.

With no confirmation on its launch, Tata Sierra Concept SUV may get BS6 petrol and diesel engine choices shared from its siblings. If launched in India it will rival against the likes of next-generation Mahindra XUV500, future Toyota Fortuner and 2021 Jeep Compass.
