2021 Ducati XDiavel Launched

After launching the regular Diavel power cruiser, Ducati has launched the more premium and stylish version of the same, the XDiavel. The Ducati XDiavel was available in India before the BS6 emission norms kicked in. This time around, the Ducati XDiavel has been launched in two variants, with a starting price of Rs. 18 lakh – Rs. 50,000 more than the previously available BS4 model.

The Ducati XDiavel is launched in India in two variants – ‘Dark’ and ‘Black Star’ – with the internationally available mid-spce S variant skipped out this time. The ‘Dark’ variant is priced at Rs. 18 lakh and is available in a single color option of dark stealth (matte black). On the other hand, the ‘Black Star’ variant is available in a single dual tone paint shade of gloss black and silver with red graphics and has been priced at Rs. 22.60 lakh.

In the segment of power cruisers, the direct rival of Ducati XDiavel is Triumph Rocket III Roadster. It also has Harley Davidson Fat Boy as another chief competitor in the same price range.

Compared to the standard Diavel, the Ducati XDiavel comes with a slightly sleeker design and more planted stance with longer wheelbase and shorter seat height. All of the panels and bits of the XDiavel look leaner than the standard Diavel. The all LED headlamp, handlebar mounted instrument console, sleek and long fuel tank, unique pillion seat and tail piece design, stubby dual-port exhaust pipe and single sided swing-arm are the major highlights of the Ducati XDiavel.

In tits base ‘Dark’ variant, the Ducati XDiavel comes with features like LED headlamp, LED turn indicators, LED tail lamp, fully digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, riding modes, power modes, cornering ABS, traction control, Ducati Power Launch, ride-by-wire system, cruise control and backlit handlebar switches.

The more premium and pricier ‘Black Star’ variant of the motorcycle packs in all these features And in addition, it gets daytime running LEDs, forged alloy wheels, Brembo M50 brake calipers with radial master cylinder, suede seats, 3.5-inch TFT colored instrument console and Ducati Multimedia system.

2021 Ducati XDiavel: Powertrain and Performance

Both the variants of the Ducati XDiavel are powered by a four-stroke, liquid cooled, 90-degree V-twin, 1262cc engine, which is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. This is the same engine which is there in the standard Diavel, and here, it makes 160 bhp @ 9,500 rpm of maximum power and 127 Nm @ 5,000 rpm of maximum torque.

2021 Ducati XDiavel: Chassis

Like the standard Diavel, the new Ducati XDiavel too sits on a steel trellis frame and tips the weighing scales at 221 kg. It gets hydraulic upside down telescopic forks and twin 320mm disc brakes at the front, while at the rear, it gets single sided swingarm with preload and rebound adjustable monoshock and a single 265mm disc brake. The bike gets Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres at both the ends.
