All-Electric Ola S1 Scooter Launched in Two Variants, Prices Start at Rs. 99,999

One of the most anticipated electric two-wheeler launches of 2021, the all new Ola S1 electric scooter has made its debut in the Indian market. The Ola S1 will be available in two different variants, S1 and S1 Pro, which have been priced at Rs. 99,999 and Rs. 1,29,999 respectively .
Ola S1 Electric Scooter Battery, Drive Range & Specifications
In both the variants, the Ola S1 electric scooter sources its power from a 8.5 kW electric motor, which is assisted by a 3.92 kWh electric battery. In the entry-level S1, this battery gives maximum riding range of 121 km, with the motor powerful enough to give it a top-speed of 90 kmph and a claimed 0-40 kmph sprint time of 3.6 seconds. For the more premium Ola S1 Pro, the scooter has a maximum range of 181 km, top speed of 115 kmph and a claimed 0-40 kmph time of 3 seconds.
In both the variants of the Ola e scooter, there are three different riding modes – normal, sport and hyper. The battery can be charged from 0 to 100 per cent in 6 hours at home using a 750W portable charger, which comes along with the scooter. In addition to this, Ola Electric has already set up more than 1000 ‘hypercharger’ fast-charging stations across the country. These hyperchargers can charge 50 per cent of the battery in just 18 minutes.
Ola S1 Electric Scooter Features
The Ola S1 electric scooter comes with a number of first-in-class features, including reverse riding mode, cruise control, hill hold assist, keyless ignition with proximity sensors for locking and unlocking the scooter, harmonious riding sound and built-in speakers for music system while on the go.
The 7-inch TFT colored touch-controlled instrument console of the Ola S1 has multiple display modes – Bold, Care, Vintage and Wonder – for the layout of dials and on-going data. The console also comes with in-built navigation system and pre-saved and configurable display modes as per one’s choice. The Ola e scooter also supports voice command compatibility for an array of functions, including music system functions and attending phone calls.
The display is also compatible with a smartphone application, through which one can adjust area limit, time fence, speed limit and restrict modes. Through smartphone application, one can also monitor live location tracking, battery and health alerts, scheduling of at-home servicing and other functions of the scooter.
Ola S1 Electric Scooter Design
Other basic features of the Ola S1 electric scooter are 12-inch alloy wheels, single sided front suspension, coil spring rear suspension, disc brakes at both the ends, 50-liters of under-seat storage compartment, LED headlamps and tail lamp with daytime running LED and LED turn indicators.
Ola S1 Electric Scooter Colors
The Ola S1 will be available in a range of ten color options to choose from. The base Ola S1 can be had in white, sky blue, red, black and yellow. The Ola S1 Pro, in addition to these five colors, is also offered in grey, black, matte black, dark blue and pink.
The Ola S1 electric scooter was already up for bookings at Rs. 499 on Ola Electric’s official website, www.olaelectric.com. The Ola e scooter will be open for purchasing from September 8, with the deliveries of first lot of scooters commencing in October. Unlike the conventional method of sale through dealerships, the Ola S1 will be made available on ‘direct-to-home’ basis.
