2022 Mahindra Scorpio Imagined with A Front Design of Kia Sorento in A Rendering, looks butch
In recent times, Mahindra has successfully generated a lot of interest and anticipation for its new launches with its test mules of new SUVs repeatedly spied doing test runs out in the open world. While Mahindra has taken a lot of time for testing its new SUVs, the efforts seem to have paid well to the home-grown manufacturer, as SUVs like the new XUV700 and Thar have become blockbusters right from their launch.
Mahindra is expecting the same amount of traction and sales numbers for the all-new Scorpio, which is slated to arrive in India in the first half of 2022. Like the XUV700 and Thar, the new Scorpio has been spied infinite times doing test runs across India in camouflaged avatars, thus hiding its identity. Many people have tried their best to imagine how the SUV might look like in actual, by using all the possible highlights available for the SUV. One such design rendering of the new Mahindra Scorpio has surfaced on the internet, from a video uploaded by a YouTube channel named ‘Car Care Tips’.
In this video, we can see that the front end of the upcoming Mahindra Scorpio, which looks very much similar to that of the Kia Sorento which was unveiled for the global markets in 2021. However, we must admit that the new Scorpio looks butch with this front end, which comprises a massive rectangular grille with vertical chrome slats and the new twin-peaks Mahindra logo in the middle. The grille here is flanked by large and angular headlamps with vertically stacked LED elements in it. Even the front bumper has been imagined with vertically laid trapezoidal housings for the fog lamps and a silver skid plate at its bottom.
However, this front end is not the exact thing which we will be getting in the new Scorpio and is purely a design imagination of the creator. What’s ensured that the new Mahindra Scorpio will look more modern, bolder and sharper than the current-gen model. Compared to the model it will be replacing, the new Scorpio will come with a range of modern elements like dual LED projector headlamps with daytime running LEDs, machined alloy wheels and a revised LED tail lamp.
The interior of the new Mahindra Scorpio will be a complete departure from the utilitarian looking cabin layout of the current-gen model. As seen in spy pics surfaced on the internet, the SUV will get new-gen features like single-pane electric sunroof, roof-mounted speakers, a bigger touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, push start-stop button and leather upholstery.
Like the new XUV700 and Thar, the new Mahindra Scorpio will get new generation powertrains under its hood. The list of engine options includes 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel, both of which will be offered with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox.
