Aprilia, the Piaggio Group owned two-wheeler manufacturer has launched Aprilia SR125 scooter in India at Rs. 65,310 ex-showroom, Pune. The launch of the automatic scooter at the 2018 Auto Expo marks the expansion of the Aprilia range in the country after the successful launch of Aprilia SR150 last year. The toned down version of the existing 150cc moto scooter looks very much similar to the bigger SR150. Aprilia SR125 takes on the likes of TVS Ntorq 125, Honda Grazia and others in the segment. Alongside, the company has also introduced the Aprilia Storm 125.

The company claims to have used the same parts and components in this new premium scooter. The first 125cc offering from the Italian company in the country borrows its design from the ongoing SR150. The scooter features similar graphic work with twin front apron headlamp and is packed with the same 125cc engine that powers the Piaggio Vespa 125. Its 3-valve engine produces 10bhp of power along with the peak torque of 10.6Nm. However, the company asserts it to be slightly better when it comes to fuel economy. The 14-inch wheels and the wide tyres are stable, yet adding a fun element to it. The newest member of the Aprilia family will be sold across India through Vespa and Aprilia dealerships.

On the other hand, the displayed Aprilia Storm 125 comes with 12-inch wide terrain tyres, rugged design and more sporty appearance. It runs on smaller 12″ wheels but with taller and dual purpose tyres it seems capable to take up any challenge thrown at it. This scooter basically targets the young generation, offering customization options using accessories.

What’s more, the company has come up with “Mobile Connectivity App” during the Auto Expo 2018. The application allows its riders to operate and control the features of their Aprilia and Vespa scooters. The designated app stocks all the information related to all the models, which helps the rider to find, navigate and follow their rides effortlessly. Also, it is equipped with the panic alert feature, which allows the rider to contact the registered number with the location in case of an emergency. The new application also allows riders to find the service stations, petrol pumps and connects with customer care team. It will be available for both App Store and Play Store soon.

Along with the new launches, the company showcased several other models at its pavilion during the show. The Piaggio showcased the Vespa GTS, Tuono 150, Aprilia RS 150 and the next-gen technology product, the Vespa Elettrica.
