BWM Launches Revised R 1250 RT and K 1600 range of touring motorcycles

BMW Motorrad has expanded its lineup of motorcycles by introducing the latest iterations of its top-of-the-line touring motorcycles. The four motorcycles – R 1250 RT, K 1600 B, K 1600 GTL and K 1600 Grand America have been launched in India as completely built units, the bookings for which were on for a few weeks now. Here is complete detail on all the four motorcycles launched by BMW Motorrad:

BMW R 1250 RT

The new BMW R 1250 RT is the most affordable motorcycle among the four grand touring motorcycles launched by BMW Motorrad in India. The new R 1250 RT gets the same two-cylinder,1254cc Boxer engine, which is capable of producing a maximum power output of 136 bhp, while the peak torque output is claimed at 143 Nm. The claimed 0-100 kmph time is 3.7 seconds, while the top speed claimed is 200 kmph. The changes introduced in the new BMW R 1250 RT are slightly redesigned fairing, new all-LED headlamps, revised instrument console and new BMW ShiftCam technology. The motorcycle has been launched for Rs 23.95 lakh.

BMW K 1600 Range

There are three motorcycles in the BMW K 1600 range – the K 1600 B, K 1600 GTL and K 1600 Grand America. All these three motorcycles feature the same in-line six-cylinder 1649cc engine, which produces 160 PS of maximum power and 180 Nm of maximum torque output.

The new standard features in all the three variants of the K 1600 range include a completely new 10.25-inch full-TFT instrument console with integrated navigation and connectivity, engine drag torque control and dynamic ESA. Other common features in all three motorcycles are a shaft drive, electronic suspension adjustment with automatic load levelling, three riding modes (Rain, Road and Dynamic), heated grips and seats, hill start assist, Type-C charging port and dynamic traction control.

While the K 1600 GTL and K 1600 Grand America come standard with an integrated audio system, it is offered as an optional extra in the K 1600 B. The K1600 Grand American is based on the K 1600 B and gets a top box with an integrated backrest above the tail section. On the other hand, the K 1600 GTL is also based on the K 1600 B but is devoid of a blacked-out theme for the cycle parts, engine and alloy wheels. Also, it gets slightly redesigned side panniers, a top box with integrated backrest, seats and exhaust pipes.

The prices for all the three motorcycles in the K 1600 range are as follows:

BMW K 1600 B – Rs 29.90 lakh

BMW K 1600 GTL – Rs 32.00 lakh

BMW K 1600 Grand America – Rs 33 lakh

All four motorcycles here are offered with a standard warranty of three years and unlimited kilometres. In addition to that, the motorcycle is also available with extended warranty packages for the fourth and fifth years. Lastly, for an additional cost, BMW Motorrad is also offering a 24×7 Road Side Assistance Package.
