Hyundai Aura Priced at Rs 5.80 lakh; Launched in India with 3 Engine Options

The week of launches has begun, Hyundai launched its all-new sub-four metre Aura sedan at the starting price of Rs 5.80 lakh and the price goes up to Rs 9.22 lakh for the top-end trim (both prices ex-showroom India). The much-awaited compact car will compete with other popular compact sedans like Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze and Ford Aspire. Offered with two petrol and one diesel trim, it also gets greener CNG choice. The BSVI compliant engines – two out of three – are made available in AMT gearbox options. At the front, the premium looking Hyundai sedan features similar face, as seen on the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, while interior layout is also borrowed from the hatchback sibling.

‘The Modern Trendsetter’ as dubbed by Hyundai is positioned above the Hyundai Xcent sedan in the Korean car maker’s India portfolio. Price-wise presented in a total of seven variants namely E, S, S AMT, SX, SX (O), SX+ MT, and SX+ AMT, Hyundai Aura consists of many segment-first attributes.

Engine and Specifications

On the specs part, the three engine choices of Hyundai Aura include 1.0L Turbo petrol that gives out 100 PS power and 172 Nm torque, while the 1.2L petrol produces 83 PS power and 114 Nm torque. Likewise, the sole diesel engine in the form of 1.2L EcoTorq churns 75 PS power and 190 Nm torque. All the three engines are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission along with an option of AMT for the 1.2L petrol and the 1.2L diesel engine.

Exterior & Interior

On the outside, the Aura is greeted with similar styling as seen on Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS, especially, the boomerang DRLs and triangle fog lamp housing. Moreover, the rear is studded with attractive-looking Z-shaped LED taillights. To add premium quotient, the door handle sees chrome inserts, while the wheels feature 15-inch alloys.

The highlights of the roomy Aura cabin features wireless and USB charger, eco coating, emergency stop signal, leather-wrapped gear knob and air curtain, driver rear-view display, etc. Furthermore, the engaging aspects comprise of 8-inch touch screen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity and can be synced with Apple Car Play and Android Play. Adding more to the list is the premium music system Arkamys and a 5.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

Dimensions & Colours

Available in six shades – Fiery Red, Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Alpha Blue & Vintage Brown – the Hyundai Aura stretches 3995mm in length, 1680mm in width and carries a height of 1520mm. The wheelbase comes to 2450 mm, while the boot stands big at 402L space.
