New Honda Civic Unveiled at Auto Expo 2018

Honda Cars has exhibited one of its most awaited products for the Indian marketplace, the new generation Honda Civic at the ongoing Indian Auto Expo 2018. The car will go for sale for the Indian audiences later in the year. As for now, we have to satiate ourselves with the glance of the global spec specimen. After a stunning gap of 5 years from the discontinuation of its predecessor in India, the 8th gen Civic, due to the increasing demand of diesel sedans in the country, the 10th gen model comes in both petrol and diesel variants. The price is expected to be in the range of Rs. 14-19 lakh for the basic to the fully loaded models.

Specifications

The new Honda Civic will come in both the petrol and diesel variants and will be powered by 1.8 litre V-TEC petrol and 1.6 litre i-DTEC Turbo diesel engines. The petrol variant comes mated to a 6-speed manual as well as CVT transmission. The maximum power and peak torque stand at 135BHP and 170Nm respectively. The diesel engine comes mated only to a 6-speed manual transmission and achieves a maximum power of 118bhp @ 4000rpm and a peak torque of 300Nm @ 3000rpm. Honda has kept in mind the low fuel efficiency of the older version and improved the mileage of the car at 15.5kmpl and 20.2kmpl for the petrol and diesel models respectively.

Features

The all new Honda Civic is developed on the base platform of 8th gen Civic and has more or less the same dimensions. The feature that strike out in the new model is decidedly the low slung sporty design. The faux notchback looks at the rear enhances the vibrancy to another level. This means the rear LEDs will be under the bumper. The coupe like styling and the leather upholstery will give this sedan a classic outlook and top notch interior.
