New Hyundai i20 N Line Launched in India, Prices Begin at Rs. 9.84 Lakh

Hyundai i20 N Line Launched in India

After a few days of previewing it publically, prices and variants of the Hyundai i20 N Line have been announced. The new Hyundai i20 N Line has been launched in three different variants, the prices for which commence at Rs. 9.84 lakh. This is the first model from Hyundai India under its globally famed range of N Line cars, which offer cosmetic and minor mechanical enhancements over its regular cars.

2021 Hyundai i20 N Line: Variants and Prices

The new Hyundai i20 N Line has been made available in three variants – N6 iMT, N8 iMT and N8 DCT. The N6 iMT and N8 iMT get a 6-speed iMT gearbox as standard and are priced at Rs. 9.84 lakh and Rs. 10.87 lakh respectively. Meanwhile, the range topping N8 DCT gets a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox and tops the range at Rs. 11.75 lakh. With these prices, the i20 N Line trim now sits right at the top of the hugely versatile lineup of i20 in India.

Hyundai has introduced subtle looking cosmetic enhancements on the exterior of the i20 N Line. Compared to the standard version of the i20, the new Hyundai i20 N Line gets dual tone front and rear bumpers with red accents, redesigned and bigger looking fog lamp housings, front splitter and new ‘chequered flag’ design for the front grille with N Line logo.

The i20 N Line also gets new design for the 16-inch machined alloy wheels, red colored front brake calipers and side sill garnish with red inserts on the sides. At the back, the i20 N Line continues to have a sportier aura with roof spoiler, rear diffuser, twin exhaust pipes and dark chrome garnish on the boot lid.

Apart from four monotone color options, namely Thunder Blue, Polar White, Fiery Red and Titan Grey, the new i20 N Line is also offered with two dual tone paint options of Thunder Blue with Phantom Black and Fiery Red with Phantom Black.

Step inside the cabin, and the new Hyundai i20 N Line welcomes you with its all black cabin with red highlights at places. Apart from a newly designed three-spoke steering wheel and sporty metal pedals, the new i20 N Line also gets chequered flag design N Line branded leatherette seats and leather finished N Line branded gear knob.

The equipment list of the Hyundai i20 N Line is based on that of the Asta (O) variant of the standard i20. This means that the i20 N Line is bestowed with features like full LED headlamps with daytime running LEDs, LED fog lamps, electric sunroof, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, full TFT colored instrument console, push start-stop button, automatic climate control, wireless charger, updated Bluelink app with 16 free OTA updates and premium 7-speaker BOSE audio system.

On the front of safety, the Hyundai i20 N Line is power packed with aids like six airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors with camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, automatic headlamps, vehicle stability management, electronic stability control and hill start assist.

The Hyundai i20 N Line has been offered with a 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine as standard, which makes a maximum power output of 120 bhp and a peak torque output of 172 Nm. This engine is available with a 6-speed iMT in both N6 and N8 variant levels, while the N8 variant can also be had with a 7-speed DCT gearbox as well.

The Hyundai i20 N Line promises minor tweaks to its suspension setup, steering feel and exhaust note over the regular i20. The N Line variants also get rear wheel disc brakes as standard, something which the regular i20 misses out on.

The new Hyundai i20 N Line has a direct rival in the Indian market in the form of Volkswagen Polo GT TSI. The Tata Altroz i-Turbo is also one of the potent rivals to the new i20 N Line.
