The sub-4m SUV will be the lightest among its rivals such as Kia Sonet, Vitara Brezza, Nexon & others.
The cat is almost out of the box. Nissan is gradually revealing details of its highly anticipated Magnite SUV. Earlier, the Japanese automaker had shared the boot capacity, ground clearance and engine specs of the SUV. Mileage & Specifications
The upcoming Nissan Magnite will be available in two petrol engines – 1.2-litre and 1.0-litre turbo. Here are there specification and the ARAI fuel efficiency figures.
|Engine||1.0-litre naturally aspirated||1.0-litre turbo|
|Power||72 PS||100 PS|
|Torque||96Nm||160Nm | 152Nm (CVT)|
|Transmission||5-speed manual||5-speed manual/CVT|

The kerb weight makes it the lightest in the segment and coupled with the powerful motors, it should be delivering nimble ride. Another positive with the Magnite is the tyres – it gets 16-inchers standard across the trim. However, the selection between steel wheels and alloys depends on the variant you opt for.
In terms of dimensions, we only had 205mm of ground clearance but Nissan has unwrapped the complete proportions of the Magnite SUV.
The measurements do not make it an exceptional SUV in its segment, however, the wheelbase is in line other rivals. Besides, we have seen in the images, how intelligently Nissan has used its dimensions to its fullest. It should be a subcompact SUV to watch out for as far as rear seating space is concerned.
Price & Competition
The Nissan Magnite SUV would be priced very aggressively as it shares its underpinning with the Renault Triber. It should start around Rs 5.40 lakh which will undercut the pricing of all its rivals by a huge margin.
With that pricing and incredible features in its kitty, the Magnite will be giving a run for money to the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport and Toyota Urban Cruiser.
