Renault Zoe hatchback Unveiled At the 2018 Indian Auto Expo

French carmaker Renault has showcased it’s Zoe electric hatchback at the ongoing auto expo in Delhi. The electric small car features what can best be described as a fluid design. A tiny air dam, slim headlights, which come with projector lamps and LED DRLs are also some of the other design accents which easily stand out on this electric vehicle. The rear door handle is hidden in the C-pillar like the one we first saw in the Chevrolet Beat and gives the car a coupe-like appearance.

Zoe also happens to be one of the highest selling electric vehicles in Europe. This car is powered by a 22kWh battery which gives the little hatchback a driving range of 240kms. As compared to another popular e-hatchback which is also being showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo- the BMW i3, Renault Zoe seems like a steal. The German EV which is expected to be priced at Rs. 35 Lakh will be three times pricier than Zoe which is likely to hit the Indian market featuring a price tag of Rs. 11 Lakh. Renault is renowned for aggressively pricing its cars and we first witnessed this with the launch of Renault Kwid another hatchback from the carmaker.

Like the Kwid, the interior of Zoe is reminiscent of the ones we find in Renault’s other offerings like the Captur. The top-of-the-line variants will also come with a Bose surround sound system. In terms of the overall size, Zoe is larger than cars like Toyota Etios Liva, Hyundai i20 and several others.

Renault also showcased a sportier, race-version of the EV. The Zoe e-Sport features black alloy wheels, a matte blue colour scheme with contrasting yellow accents, which is a shoutout to Renault’s e.Dams Formula E race car. The e-sport features two electric motors which in tandem produce 462PS of maximum power and 640 NM of torque. The hatchback accelerates from 0-100kmph in under 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 210kmph.
