Yamaha Motor India has expanded the lineup MT-15 with a new Moto GP edition. The new Yamaha MT-15 Moto GP Edition gets the same Monster Energy livery as that of the current Moto GP-spec factory bike, the YZR-M1.
With this, the Yamaha MT-15 becomes the second motorcycle in current lineup from Yamaha to get this Moto GP edition, with the other being the FZ-25. This new version is finished in an all-black paint scheme with new graphics on fuel tank and its extensions as well as radiator side covers.
Yamaha has priced the MT-15 Moto GP Edition at Rs. 1,47,900. With this, the Yamaha MT-15 Moto GP Edition commands a premium of Rs. 3,000 over the standard MT-15, which is offered in two shades of Metallic Black and Dark Matt Blue. It is also only Rs. 2,000 pricier than the Ice Fluo Edition, which has a matt light grey pain scheme.
In addition to these paint schemes, the Yamaha MT-15 Moto GP Edition is priced similar to the ‘Customize Your Warrior’ (CYW) edition of the motorcycle. The CYW range gives the customers an option to choose between three different body color options of metallic black, dark matt blue and ice fluo, and four different wheel color options of vermillion (red), gold, racing blue and neon green. The Yamaha MT-15 CYW edition too is priced at Rs. 1,47,900.
The Yamaha MT-15 is essentially a naked version of the hugely popular YZF-R15, and comes with revised body panels all around. The motorcycle gets LED projector headlamp with daytime running LEDs, LED tail lamp, negative LCD fully digital instrument console. Additional features include single channel ABS and assist and slipper clutch.
The Yamaha MT-15 is powered by a four-stroke, single cylinder, liquid cooled, 155cc engine from the R15. Here, it makes 18.5 PS of maximum power and 13.9 Nm of maximum torque and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox.
The Yamaha MT-15 sits on the same Deltabox frame as that of the R15, and gets the same suspension combination of conventional hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The bike rides on 17-inch wheels with a 282mm disc brake at the front and a 220mm disc brake at the rear.
Prospected customers can book the Yamaha MT-15 Moto GP edition either on the official website of Yamaha Moto India, or at any of the authorized dealership of the two-wheeler maker across India.
