2021 Mutt Akita 125 debuts in UK

The entry level segment of 125cc sporty motorcycles has just received a new contender. Mutt Motorcycles from Birmingham, UK has launched its all new Akita 125. Restricted only for the UK market, the Mutt Akita 125 carries a price tag of GBP 3,495. The motorcycle is positioned below the Akita 250 and is now the most affordable offering from Mutt Motorcycles.

Unlike most of the other 125cc motorcycles, the Mutt Akita 125 is a traditional old school scrambler motorcycle, with a very bare basic design which misses out on a lot of modern features. The motorcycle comes with a round headlamp with a grille over it, chopped front and rear fenders, small rounded LED turn indicators, 17-liter fuel tank with rectangular knee recesses, fat block-pattern tyres, an all-black theme for the spoke wheels and engine, brushed aluminium sump guard for the engine, short single-piece brown colored seat, short exhaust pipe and a minimalist tail section with no rear side body panels and a small round tail light.

As said before, to make it feel old school, the Mutt Akita 125 is devoid of many modern day features and technologies. The scrambler motorcycle comes with a very basic and archaic looking single pod all-analog instrument console and small rounded LED turn indicators at both the ends.

The Mutt Akita 125 has been armed with a four stroke, single cylinder, air cooled, fuel injected, 125cc engine, which is powerful enough to pump out 12.1 PS of maximum power output and 10 Nm of peak torque output. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel of the motorcycle through a 5-speed gearbox, and the motorcycle is capable of hitting a top speed of 112 kmph.

2021 Mutt Akita 125: Chassis

Riding on 18-inch spoke wheels, the Mutt Akita 125 has been fitted with gaitered telescopic forks at the front and gas-charged coil springs at the back. Being a basic 125cc motorcycle, the Mutt Akita 125 skips out on ABS, but gets a combined braking system. The motorcycle tips the weighing scales at 127 kg.

2021 Mutt Akita 125: Pricing and Rivals

Launched in two color options of matt black and matt silver, the Mutt Akita 125 has been priced at GBP 3,495, which makes it a direct rival to the retro-themed Yamaha XSR 125. It also takes on other sportier 125cc motorcycles like KTM Duke 125 and CB125R. The motorcycle is specifically designed and meant for sale only for the UK market, which means that it is not going to launch in the Indian two wheeler market.
