Contrary to its other siblings from Bajaj Auto which have been receiving price hikes in recent times, the Bajaj Dominar 250 has received a massive price cut of Rs. 16,800. With this, the new price of the Bajaj Dominar 250 is Rs. 1,54,176 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

This price reduction is seen to be on the lines of the big price cut received by its closest competitor, the Yamaha FZ25. The Yamaha FZ25 range saw an even bigger price reduction of Rs. 20,000, with its range now starting at Rs. 1.34 lakh. The Bajaj Dominar 250 also has the Suzuki Gixxer 250 in its crosshairs, which is priced at Rs. 1.78 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

The price cut received by Bajaj Dominar 250 doesn’t come at an expense of anything, and the motorcycle continues to be the same machine as it was earlier. Designed on the lines of the bigger Dominar 400, the Bajaj Dominar 250 loos exactly the same as the former, but gets lower-spec suspension and tires. The Dominar 250 rides on 100/80-17 front tire and 130/70-17 rear tire and gets 37mm upside down telescopic hydraulic forks at the front and multi-step gas charged monoshock at the rear.

The Bajaj Dominar 250 sees no changes to its powertrain. It continues to share its four stroke, liquid cooled, 248.8cc engine with the KTM Duke 250, however, it is present here in a different state of tune as well as with two additional spark plugs. The engine here makes 27 PS @ 8,500 rpm of maximum power and 23.5 Nm @ 6,500 rpm of maximum torque, and is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox.

The overall styling as well as equipment list of the Bajaj Dominar 250 too sees no change, with the motorcycle continuing to get full LED headlamps, LED tail lamp, LED turn indicators, backlit switchgear, 1-into-2 exhaust, split seats, split-type fully digital instrument console and backlit switchgear. The Bajaj Dominar 250 is still available with two color options of Canyon Red and Charcoal Black.

On the sidelines of slashing the price of Bajaj Dominar 250, Sarang Kanade, President (Motorcycle Business), Bajaj Auto Limited said, “We, at Bajaj Auto, believe that touring on a bike opens the doors to a world of ‘real’ experiences that widens your perspective and shapes one’s character. We realize that biking for youngsters can be so much more than just street fun if the bike comes with the right dose of performance, sharp design and a superior riding experience. We are proud to build the segment of Sports Touring in the country with a motorcycle that is ‘Born To Sprint and Built To Tour’. In times of price hikes across the industry, we have taken a stance of reducing price on Dominar 250 and make Sports Touring more accessible.”
