With the discontinuation of STD and RXE variants, Renault Kwid’s lineup now commences with the RXL variant. This new base variant of the Kwid packs in just the safety basics, which include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, remote keyless entry and speed sensing auto door lock. It also gets daytime running LEDs, LED inserts in tail lamps and a rear roof spoiler with a high-mounted stop lamp on the outside.

On the inside, the RXL variant gets a fully-digital instrument console, a 12V power socket, manual AC and two speakers integrated within the front doors. Also, this time around, the 1.0-litre engine option is available from this base variant itself. This particular variant is available in only two colour options of Ice Cool White and Moonlight Silver.

The RXL (O) is the new variant added in the lineup of Renault Kwid. In addition to all the features available in the base-spec RXL variant, this new RXL (O) variant also gets silver-coloured full wheel caps, intermittent front wiper and LED tail lamps on the outside, with the 1.0-litre manual variant also getting stylized decals on the door panels.

On the inside, this new variant also adds in front power windows and rear parcel tray, with the manual AC getting a 4-speed blower. However, the main addition on the inside is the inclusion of a 1-DIN audio system with radio, USB, Aux and Bluetooth compatibility.

Apart from the Ice Cool White and Moonlight Silver colour options, the RXL (O) is also available in Fiery Red, Outback Bronze and Zanskar Blue colour options.

Unlike the previous two variants, the next variant in the lineup, RXT now misses out on the 0.8-litre engine option and comes solely with the 1.0-litre engine option with both 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox options.

On the outside, the RXT variant looks a bit more premium than the lower two variants with chrome inserts on the front grille, blacked-out B-pillar and body-coloured rearview mirrors. Step inside, and you are greeted with additional features like a red outline on fabric upholstery, piano black finish for the centre console and gear knob and chrome highlights for the infotainment system, AC control panel, steering wheel and AC vents.

In this variant onwards, the 1-DIN audio system is replaced with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. It also has white-coloured readouts for instrument console, reverse camera, rear power windows, USB charger, electrically adjustable outside rearview mirrors and day-night inside rearview mirror.

The RXT variant retains all the colour options from the RXL (O) variant.

Renault Kwid Climber

Price – Rs 5.42 lakh (1.0-litre manual), Rs 5.84 lakh (1.0-litre AMT)

This is a pure cosmetically enhanced version of the RXT variant and retains all the comfort, convenience and safety features of the former. It gets a host of visual add-ons like roof rails with white inserts, white-coloured outside rearview mirrors, front and rear skid plates with white inserts, body cladding on door panels, dual-tone multi-spoke wheel caps, dual-tone headlamps protector, Climber badges on front seats and steering wheel, leather-wrapped steering wheel with white inserts and chrome finish for handbrake lever and inside door handles. It also gets an additional 12V power socket for rear passengers. The Climber variant is available in two dual-tone colour options of Ice Cool White with Mystery Black and Metal Mustard with Mystery Black, and two monotone colour options of Moonlight Silver and Zanskar Blue.
