Just a few days after Maruti Suzuki updated the Baleno hatchback, Toyota has also updated its badge-engineered version sold under its umbrella, the Glanza. However, unlike before, the new Toyota Glanza gets an entirely front fascia with a sleeker grille, revised headlamps and a redesigned front bumper. ON the inside too, the new Glanza gets a different black and beige upholstery, unlike the black and blue upholstery in the Baleno.
However, the differences end here only, as all the four variants of the new Toyota Glanza – E, S, G and V – are based on the respective variants of the new Baleno – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. All these four variants of the Toyota Glanza get the same 1.2-litre four-cylinder K12N petrol engine from the Baleno, which produces a higher power output of 90 PS and a peak torque output of 113 Nm. The engine is available with a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox options, with the latter being the first for a Toyota product in India.
Following are all the variants of the new Toyota Glanza, and what all features they come equipped with:
Toyota Glanza E
Price – Rs 6.39 lakh (manual)
It is the new base-spec variant of the Toyota Glanza, which was earlier available only in higher-spec G and V variants. Based on the Sigma variant of the new Baleno, the Toyota Glanza E gets halogen projector headlamps and a rear defogger on the outside. Step into the cabin, and you are welcomed with a comprehensive instrument console with tachometer and MID, all-four power windows, automatic climate control and tilt-adjustable steering wheel in the Toyota Glanza E. The essential safety features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, remote central locking and reverse parking sensors are available from this base variant itself in the new Glanza. It is the only variant in the Toyota Glanza lineup, which is not offered with the optional AMT gearbox.
Toyota Glanza S
Price – Rs 7.29 lakh (manual), Rs 7.79 lakh (AMT)
The S variant of the Glanza looks visually better than the base-spec E variant, thanks to the inclusion of body-coloured door handles and rearview mirrors, chrome garnish on the front grille, blacked-out A and B pillars, turn indicators on the rearview mirrors and plastic caps for 15-inch steel wheels. The cabin of the S variant also gets additional features, such as a 7-inch Smartplay Studio infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, four speakers for the audio system, a multi-functional steering wheel with audio and Bluetooth controls, electrically adjustable and foldable rearview mirrors and a rear parcel tray. The AMT version of this variant is also benefitted with hill hold assist and an electronic stability program.
Toyota Glanza G
Prices – Rs 8.24 lakh (manual), Rs 8.74 lakh (AMT)
The new G variant of the Toyota Glanza feels much better equipped and premium when compared to the G variant of the erstwhile-available Glanza. On the outside, while it retains the LED projector headlamps and chrome door handles, it now also gets daytime running LEDs, auto on-off and follow-me-home functions, 16-inch grey alloy wheels and window beltline and a rear wiper.
In addition to the features of the S variant, the new G variant now also comes with side and curtain airbags, Smartplay Pro software for the 7-inch infotainment system with reverse camera and Amazon Alexa compatibility, in-built Suzuki Connect with additional features, two tweeters for music system, rear AC vents, driver seat height adjustment, push start-stop button and telescopic adjustment for the steering wheel. Other minor features introduced in the new G variant include sliding front armrest, 60:40 split rear seats, height adjustable headrests for rear seats, front footwell lamps and revised TFT MID for instrument console.
Toyota Glanza V
Price – Rs 9.19 lakh (manual), Rs 9.69 lakh (AMT)
The V variant continues to be the top-spec variant of the new Glanza as well. However, this time around, the variant feels better equipped with features like a head-up display, 360-degree parking camera, a bigger 9-inch Smartplay Pro+ infotainment system, Arkamys sound system and cruise control. In addition to all these new features and those from the G variant, the new V variant also comes with LED fog lamps, 16-inch machined alloy wheels, leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, UV-cut glasses and auto-foldable rearview mirrors.
