To be launched next year in India, the Datsun Go Cross will be introduced in Indonesia before the year-end.
An image of the production ready Datsun Go Cross was spied quite recently. The upcoming Go Cross’ image seems to be from Indonesia where the car will be launching soon in this month. The Datsun car was showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo in the concept guise and now, we expect the car to be on display again in its production form. The car is highly likely to be launched by mid-2018.
From rear, it looks like a beefed-up Datsun Go+ MPV with black cladding all around. The silver finished bumpers and sturdy looking roof rake add a rugged character to the Japanese vehicle. The Go Cross is expected to share platform and parts from the Datsun Go and the Go+ MPV. The biggest USP of the Cross would be its seven seating capacity.
Datsun Go Cross Specifications
In terms of mechanicals, we expect Datsun to plonk similar engines as seen in its Indonesian avatar. It gets a 1.2-litre petrol engine pumping out max power of 68bhp and 104Nm of peak torque. It is linked to either a five-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission.
The feature list too is likely to be shared with its cousins. This includes a 6.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with USB, Aux-in and Bluetooth connectivity options. Besides, AC, electrically adjustable ORVMs, power windows, rear parking camera and a rear wiper are likely to make way in the Datsun Go Cross.
Since, it will be initiating a new segment in the country; its rivals also include a mix breed. On the lower side, it rivals the Mahindra KUV100 NXT, Toyota Etios Cross and Maruti CelerioX, whereas on the higher-end, it will be taking on the compact SUVs like the Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon and the Maruti Vitara Brezza.
The Datsun Go Cross price is expected to be Rs 6 -8 lakh, ex-showroom approximate.
