Ducati has pulled off the curtains from the latest version of its renowned power cruiser, the Diavel 1260, in the Indian two-wheeler market. The Ducati Diavel 1260 will be available across all the authorized showrooms of the Italian performance motorcycle marquee in two different variants – the standard variant and the ‘S’ variant. Ducati has priced the Diavel 1260 at Rs. 18.49 lakh for the standard variant and Rs 21.49 lakh for the S variant, with two color options on offer – Ducati Red and Thrilling Black (Ex-showroom, Delhi prices mentioned).

The latest iteration of the Ducati Diavel 1260 stays true to the original philosophy of the Diavel sub-brand, of being a perfectly balanced recipe between a proper naked roadster and a relaxed cruiser. The new Ducati Diavel 1260 retains the bulky-looking design with a muscular fuel tank, stretched-out handlebar, single-sided rear swing-arm and fat 240mm section rear tire.

Ducati has updated the four-stroke, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, 1262cc V2 engine of the Diavel 1260 to BS6 emission norms. With the mild changes carried to the engine, it now breathes out 164 PS @ 9500 rpm of maximum power and 129 Nm @ 7500 rpm of maximum torque. Power is channeled to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox.

The standard package of the electronic riding aids in both the variants of the Ducati Diavel 1260 consists of three customizable riding modes, cruise control, Ducati Traction Control EVO, cornering ABS EVO, Ducati Power Launch EVO, Ducati Wheelie Control EVO, three different ride modes (Urban, Touring and Sport) and Ducati Quick Shifter. Both the variants of the Ducati Diavel 1260 also share a 3.5-inch full TFT instrument console, full LED headlamps, tail lamps and turn indicators and backlit switchgear.

The more premium pricing of the S variant of the Ducati Diavel 1260 over the standard variant is due to the additional features it packs in. The list of those additional features in the S variant includes Ducati Multimedia System in instrument console, which makes it compatible with Bluetooth telephony and turn-by-turn navigation, forged aluminium alloy wheels, electronically controlled Ohlins suspension, bi-directional quick shifter and more premium brakes. At 247 kg, the S variant also weighs two kg lighter than the standard variant.

While the standard variant of the Ducati Diavel 1260 can only be had with an all-black paint scheme, the S variant is being offered with two color options – black with contrast red-colored trellis frame and Ducati Red.
