Hero Splendor Plus XTec price in india

The Hero Splendor is on sale in the Indian market for ages now, and in all these years, the motorcycle has proven to be relevant with minimal updates introduced in it gradually. The latest update for the motorcycle comes in the form of the new Splendor Plus XTec, the new range-topping variant of the motorcycle which gets a few modern-day features from more premium commuter motorcycles. The new Hero Splendor Plus XTec has arrived at Rs 72,900, which puts it at the top of the Splendor Plus lineup that has a starting price of Rs 70,700 (prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

Hero Splendor Plus XTec – What’s new

Hero Splendor Plus XTec features

The new Hero Splendor Plus XTec is being offered in four different colour schemes – Pearl White, Canvas Black, Tornado Grey and Sparkling Beta Blue. In all these colour options, the Hero Splendor Plus XTec gets new dual-tone body graphics and black-coloured alloy wheels as standard.

The big change, however, comes in the form of a new fully-digital instrument console compatible with Bluetooth connectivity, which is a segment-first thing. The orange-backlit instrument console, which has rounded edges and is surrounded by chrome garnish, displays a speedometer, fuel gauge, odometer, two trip meters, real-time fuel efficiency indicator and low fuel level indicator.

As said above, the new instrument console gets a Bluetooth connectivity feature, as per which the rider has access to incoming and misses call alerts and text message alerts. The other new features introduced in this new variant of the Hero Splendor Plus are an integrated USB port for charging smartphones, a side stand alert, a daytime running LED strip above the headlamp and a bank angle sensor, which turns off the engine in case the rider meets with an accident and the motorcycle falls.

Hero Splendor Plus XTec – What’s remained unchanged

Mechanically, the new Hero Splendor Plus XTec is identical to the other variants in the Hero Splendor lineup. The engine powering the Splendor Plus XTec is a four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 97.2cc engine, which is coupled to a 4-speed gearbox and produces a maximum power output of 7.9 bhp and a peak torque output of 8.05 Nm. The engine is assisted by Hero MotoCorp’s i3S idle start-stop system, which is aimed at enhancing the fuel efficiency of the motorcycle.

The Hero Splendor Plus XTec continues to get a suspension combination of telescopic hydraulic forks at the front and 5-step adjustable hydraulic coil springs at the rear. The motorcycle rides on 80/100-18 tubeless tyres and 130mm drum brakes at both front and rear. Other standard features continued to offer even in this variant of the Splendor Plus including electric start, maintenance-free battery and integrated braking system while missing out on ABS.
