All-Electric Pininfarina Battista Hypercar Unveiled, Will be Limited to 150 Units

Pininfarina Battista Unveiled

After creating some of the most astonishingly looking cars over the years, renowned automobile design house Pininfarina has come up with its first self-developed car, the Battista. Christened after the name of its founder, Battista Farina, the Pininfarina Battista has been revealed as a fully electric hypercar at the Monterey Car Week in California, USA.

2022 Pininfarina Battista: Production Details

The Pininfarina Battista was born as a concept which was showcased at the Geneva Motor Show back in 2018. The production-spec version of the electric hypercar has remained more or less unchanged in and out.

The Pininfarina Battista will be a limited-run model, with only 150 units of it destined to make into production. Out of these 150 units of the hypercar, 5 units will be reserved for an ultra-special edition model, the Battista Anniversario. This version of the Battista too was showcased at the Monterey car week, and will come with a more aerodynamic ‘Furiosa’ design package and special dual tone paint scheme over the regular Battista. These couple of changes are aimed to signify 90th anniversary of Battista Farina, the founder of the design house.

The Battista Pininfarina will be made only in the left-hand drive format, with the auto markets of US, Europe and Middle East being the target audience for the car. The electric hypercar will go on sale in the first quarter of 2022 with a starting price of GBP 1.7 million (around Rs. 17.5 crore).

2022 Pininfarina Battista: Powertrain Details

Pininfarina Battista Features

The Pininfarina Battista has got one dedicated electric motor for each wheel, which gives it a quad-motor configuration. The combined power and torque outputs of this powertrain are rated at 1,900 bhp and 2,300 Nm respectively, which makes it the most powerful road-legal Italian car ever built.

The engine makes the Pininfarina Battista capable enough of hitting the 100 kmph mark from standstill in under 2 seconds, and 300 kmph mark in under 12 seconds. The claimed top speed of the electric hypercar is 350 kmph. The car has been armed with a 120 kWh battery pack, which gives it a range of 500 km.

Pininfarina Battista Design Looks

Like every other hypercar, the Pininfarina Battista gets an extremely low slung, curvy and aerodynamic design, which features air scoops in front bonnet, front bumper and rear fenders. The swooping design for the front and rear bumpers, tail lamps, doors and rear view mirrors make it look fast even at standstill. With LED illumination all around, the Battista comes with scissor doors.

Pininfarina Battista Interior Features

The overall structure of the Pininfarina Battista uses carbon fiber extensively in and out. The cabin of the Battista is driver focused with a small rectangular speedometer flanked by large screens on either sides for instrument console, infotainment and navigation.

On the sidelines of the unveiling of Pininfarina Battista, Per Svantesson, CEO, Automobili Pininfarina, announced that the company will have a lineup of five different models by 2025. All of these models will be designed for both left-hand drive and right-hand drive markets, with the lineup also including an all-electric high performance SUV. For now, the Pininfarina Battista will compete with similarly-spec Rimac Nevera and soon-to-be-launched Lotus Evija.
