Renault Triber will come powered by a 72 HP, 1.0-litre diesel engine. Bookings of Triber will start 17th August onwards.
Auto-major, Renault has confirmed that it will launch its Renault Triber compact 7-seater car in India on August 28. However, its bookings will start 17 August onwards, both online on the company’s official website and at Renault India dealerships across the country. Those looking to buy Renault Triber can book it by paying a sum Rs. 11,000.
Exterior & Interior
The company will position Renault Triber between its Kwid hatchback and Duster SUV. Renault Triber is although very likely going to be a sub-4-metre car but it is going to come with plenty of room inside the cabins; credits its width, height and wheelbase measured 1739 mm, 1643 mm and 2636 mm respectively. These figures are sufficient enough to reveal that the Triber is going to be wider, taller and have longer wheelbase as compared to other premium hatchbacks currently sold in India.
The third-row seating arrangement of Renault Triber may not be roomier enough for a long tour but if you detach these rear seats, you are surely going to be happy with the spacious luggage compartment it offers — 625 litres. Inside, the car has been neatly designed with the dual-tone cabins and the quality of the materials isn’t compromised either. Similarly, the dashboard introduced in the Triber looks satisfactory too, housing a large 8-inch touch infotainment system at the centre.
Plenty of comfort and convenience features have been offered in Renault Triber to ensure that you enjoy every second of your drive. Some of its worth mentioning features include Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, navigation, keyless entry, cooling glove box, AC vents in all 3 rows etc.
Besides this, many premium features have been made standard across all the variants in Renault Triber. Some of them include 3-pointed seat belts, ABS, dual front airbags and reverse parking sensors. The top-end variants will also get frontal side airbags along with the dual front airbags.
Engine & Specifications
Renault Triber will be offered in a single engine option, i.e. 1.0-litre petrol engine having a capacity to produce 72 hp maximum power and 96 Nm maximum torque. This engine transfers power to the front wheels and it will come linked to a 5-speed manual transmission. However, the company will also introduce this car with a 5-speed AMT which will be best suited for the congested city traffic conditions. A more powerful turbo-petrol engine version of this car is also expected to launch later in the domestic auto market.
Price & Competition
It is expected that Renault Triber will come in the price range of Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 8 lakh. This means that it will avoid arch-rivalry with any of the cars currently available in India. Datsun Go+, the only entry-level 7-seater available in India is priced between Rs. 3.87 to Rs. 5.94 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi) while the another affordable seven-seater in India, Maruti Ertiga is available in the price range of Rs. 7.55 lakh to Rs. 10.06 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The Triber will also avoid any competition with Renault Lodgy which is powered by a 1.5-litre diesel engine and is available in the price range of Rs. 8.63 lakh to Rs. 12.12 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi).
