Honda Gold Wing Tour Launch Price Features Design

Continuing its spree of launching big bikes under its premium ‘Big Wing’ umbrella, Honda has brought in its flagship motorcycle in the Indian two-wheeler market, Gold Wing Tour. The Honda Gold Wing Tour has been launched in two different variants, prices of which start at Rs. 37.20 lakh, with the bike being brought here through CBU route.

Honda Gold Wing Tour Design

The Honda Gold Wing Tour retains the gargantuan stance of its predecessors, which makes it one of the largest motorcycles on sale in India in terms of overall size. However, at the same time, the motorcycle now looks much sleeker than ever before, thanks to an aerodynamic front fairing with dual all LED headlamp setup, adjustable front windshield, curvaceous looking fuel tank and large panniers on either side towards the rear. The pillion seat of the Honda Gold Wing Tour look very comfortable due to the presence of large cushioned backrest, which also accommodates additional luggage compartment beneath it.

Honda Gold Wing Tour Powertrain

The Honda Gold Wing Tour sources its power from a four stroke, flat six cylinder, liquid cooled, fuel injected, 1833cc engine, which happens to be the biggest motorcycle engine the Japanese two-wheeler major currently makes. The engine makes a maximum power output of 127.7 PS @ 5,500 rpm and 170 Nm @ 4,500 rpm. There are two transmission options one can have in the Honda Gold Wing Tour – while the base variant comes with the engine mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, the more premium variant comes with the same engine coupled to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.

Honda Gold Wing Tour Chassis

The large and bulky looking Honda Gold Wing Tour sits on a die cast aluminium frame and is fitted with a suspension combination of a unique double wishbone suspension at the front and pre-load adjustable pro-link monoshock at the back, both of which are fully electrically adjustable. The motorcycle gets dual disc brakes at the front and a single disc brake at the rear.

Honda Gold Wing Tour Features and Equipment

Both the variants of the Honda Gold Wing Tour differ only on the basis of the transmission options, for both of them are bestowed with the same features and equipment list. The flagship tourer from Honda comes with a number of premium features such as 7-inch TFT instrument console with Bluetooth, Apple Carplay and Android Auto, audio system with 45W speakers, two Type-C USB chargers, four different riding modes – Tour, Sport, Econ and Rain, tire pressure monitoring system, cruise control, traction control, ABS and hill start assist. The more premium DCT variant gets an additional sole feature of an airbag for the rider.

Honda Gold Wing Tour Variants and Colors

The Honda Gold Wing Tour can be had in one of the two different variants – Manual (Rs. 37.20 lakh) and DCT (Rs. 39.16 lakh) (both prices Ex-showroom, India). While the Manual variant is offered in Pearl Glare White, the more premium DCT variant can be had in either Gunmetal Black or Matte Morion Black. The main competitors of the Honda Gold Wing Tour are Harley Davidson Road Glide Special and soon-to-be-relaunched Indian Roadmaster.

Commenting on the inclusion of Honda Gold Wing Tour in its Big Wing lineup, Mr. Atsushi Ogata, Managing Director, President & CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “Since its introduction in 1975, Honda Gold Wing has always represented the ultimate in two-wheeled touring experience. It is a motorcycle that’s been very much on its own journey over the decades, all the while creating an enduring and unrivalled reputation for luxury, quality and comfort. We are proud to add the highly awaited model – 2021 Gold Wing Tour in our premium motorcycle product portfolio in India.”
