Celerio X AMT Vs Grand i10 Automatic Vs Tiago AMT.
Introduction of automatic transmission in the entry level cars has been a successful move for the car makers in India. Bringing a premium feature like automatic transmission in many of the budget cars is a major addition to the convenience of car buyers. Maruti A-Star was one of the first entry level cars in India that carried an automatic transmission. But the car could not delight the automotive enthusiasts due to its compact body style. Maruti Suzuki corrected itself and later on introduced the Celerio hatch with what it called the ‘Auto Gear Shift’ transmission. Later on, cars like Tata Nano, Hyundai i10, Hyundai Grand i10 and Tata Tiago got equipped with the automatic transmission. Recently, Maruti Suzuki introduced the cross-hatch avatar of its Celerio, named Celerio X, that also features automatic transmission.
For car buyers looking for a budget car with an automatic transmission, we have compared the three close hatchback rivals — Maruti Suzuki Celerio X AMT, Hyundai Grand i10 Automatic and Tata Tiago AMT. Read this comparison to understand which car is better in what particular aspect.

Appearance
Maruti Celerio X is a reworked Celerio with some crossoverish impressions across its profile. Although the size of the car looks bit squeezed but it doesn’t look ugly either. Crossover lookalike front and rear bumpers along with plastic cladding at the sides, give it a contemporary look. The grille is another great feature that makes the car look more macho than its regular version, Celerio hatch. Large sleek headlamps also match with its ‘Bold and Sporty’ image.
Hyundai Grand i10 looks a little more sophisticated than its other two AT equipped rivals. The car has very neat and sober looking exterior. There are sleek character lines at the sides. The sporty front grille and the plastics at the sides give it a stylish presence. Hyundai Grand i10 Automatic also features LED DRLs and Diamond cut alloy wheels.
Tata Tiago comes with the most innovative design; credits Tata Motor’s IMPACT design philosophy. The car gets confident and agile stance, and it is unlike any of the Tata hatchbacks which were previously sold in the market. What attracts the most are the 3 dimensional headlights with smoked lens, sporty black bezel, signature hexagonal grille, sporty character lines, dual tone bumpers and dual tone spoiler.
