With several hits up in his sleeve, Tom Cruise has gained quite a stardom in his lifetime. The man hasn’t stopped yet, for he already has some action-packed movies up in his future kitty. The actor is also known for his love for speed, which is evident from the cool choices of cars and motorcycles he is seen in his movies.

Unlike other celebrities who are seen buying flashy new offerings, Tom Cruise has a good collection of premium cars and some antique ones, some of which have made their appearances in his movies. Following are some of the cool cars owned by Tom Cruise:

Bugatti Veyron

This car needs no introduction, for it held the record of the fastest production car in the world for quite a long time. Tom Cruise owns a black-coloured Bugatti Veyron, which he drove to the premiere of Mission impossible III. The Veyron owned by him is the 16.4 version, which is powered by a massive 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged W16 petrol engine. With a maximum power output of 1001 bhp and a maximum torque output of 1250 Nm, the Veyron hits a top speed of an incredible 415 kmph. The car is also capable of hitting 100 kmph from a standstill in 2.5 seconds.

Buick Roadmaster

Tom Cruise fell in love with the beige-coloured 1949 Buick Roadmaster while shooting for the Oscar-winning movie, Rain Man. Such was the appreciation for the Roadmaster, that Cruise ended up buying the classy looking two-door open-top car. The Buick Roadmaster is one of the most beautiful looking retro cars in Tom Cruise’s garage and is powered by a 5.2-litre V8 engine. The engine makes a maximum power output of 150 bhp and a peak torque output of 379 Nm, which are much lower figures for a present-day V8 engine.

BMW 3-Series E30

BMW has had a long association with the Mission Impossible franchise which gave Tom Cruise iconic stardom. However, before Cruise was seen in swanky M3, M5 and i8 in the MI franchise, the Hollywood actor had got himself a third-generation BMW 3-series, which was popularly known as E30. This is one car he acquired in his early days of stardom. The BMW 3-Series E30 was available between 1982-1990 and was offered with a host of engines ranging from 1.6-litre to 2.7-litre. However, it is not clear which version of the E30 was bought by Tom Cruise.

Ford Mustang Saleen S281

While the Ford Mustang is a car for commoners in the United States, Tom Cruise was impressed with the Mustang Saleen S281, which he drove while filming for a movie. The Ford Mustang Saleen S281 was a limited edition model, the production of which was restricted to just 100 units and was tuned by California-based Saleen Automotive. This two-door sports coupe has a 4.6-litre two-valve V8 petrol engine, which has been tuned to produce a whopping 550 bhp of maximum power output.

Chevrolet Chevelle SS

The red-coloured Chevrolet Chevelle SS owned by Tom Cruise is the oldest car in his current collection and was bought by him much before he became the great superstar which he is today. Such was the fondness with the Chevelle SS that he drove it in a few scenes in one of his movies in the Jack Reacher series. The Chevelle SS from the late sixties is a quintessential American muscle car, which has a long profile and is powered by an equally huge 6.8-litre V8 engine, which produces a maximum power output of 370 bhp.

Porsche 911

Tom Cruise has owned several Porsche 911s to date, and the one model which he admires the most out of all the 911s is the 993 variant. This two-door sports coupe was the first-ever Porsche model to feature a 6-speed gearbox and was brought in as the replacement of the 964 variant. It was a much-improved model over its predecessor version and came with a 3.6-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six engine capable of producing a maximum power output of 402 bhp.

Chevrolet Corvette C1

The Corvette C1 was the first-ever model in the Corvette line of sports coupe from the American carmaker, and Tom Cruise owns a stunning blue-coloured 1958 model of the same. The beautiful looking two-door Chevrolet Corvette C1 is powered by a 4.6-litre small-block V8 petrol engine, which produces 290 bhp of maximum power output, which was quite high for its time. The major design highlights of the 1958 Chevrolet Corvette C1 are the faux-louvred hood with quad-headlamp setup and chrome trunk spears. It was the first model to feature a tachometer in the instrument console and factory-fitted seat belts.

Mercedes Benz S-Class

The Mercedes Benz S-Class is widely accepted as the world’s best car and is one of the first choices of film celebrities for its status quo. Tom Cruise owns a fifth-generation W221 series Mercedes Benz S-Class in a shade of black, which was the best most technically advanced full-size luxury saloon of its times. This version of the S-Class was available in a host of engine options, including a range-topping V12 petrol engine, though it is not clear which version of the car is owned by Cruise.

Ford Excursion

When the Ford Excursion was launched in 1999, it was the largest production SUV of its time. Based on the F-250 Super Duty pickup truck, this full-size SUV was brought in as a luxurious SUV for the rich men, and Tom Cruise also ended up buying one in an authoritative shade of black. This huge SUV was in the news when Tom Cruise managed to divert the attention of the paparazzi while he was expecting his first child with the-then wife Katey Holmes. The 5.4-litre Triton V8 petrol engine of the Ford Excursion pumps out 255 bhp of maximum power and 475 Nm of maximum torque.

Mercedes Benz CLK

The black-coloured Mercedes Benz CLK owned by Tom Cruise is one of the most successful two-door convertible cars in the history of the German carmaker. The Hollywood actor owns an A209 version of the CLK, which was the second generation version of the car. Cruise owns the 5.0-litre V8 variant of the Mercedes Benz CLK, which claims a maximum power output of 302 bhp and a maximum torque output of 339 Nm. The Mercedes Benz CLK was discontinued in 2010 and was replaced by the A207 E-Class Convertible.
