Toyota Hilux STD vs Toyota Hilux High

One of the most iconic products from Toyota’s global product portfolio, the Hilux pickup has made it to the Indian shores. Positioned as a four-wheel-drive lifestyle pickup, the Toyota Hilux enters into a niche space that until now was single-handedly dominated by the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross.

The Toyota Hilux is now available in India solely with a 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, which it shares with the Toyota Fortuner. This engine promises a maximum power output of 204 PS and produces a peak torque output of 420 Nm with the 6-speed manual gearbox and 500 Nm with the 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The Toyota Hilux lineup includes only two variants – STD and High, both of which are offered with a four-wheel-drive system as standard. The 6-speed manual gearbox is offered as standard in both variants, while the more-premium High variant also comes with the option of a 6-speed automatic transmission.
