The Maruti Suzuki Dzire started off its journey as a Swift with a disproportionate boot compartment added to its back. However, with time and generations, the car evolved a lot in terms of design and drivability. The current-generation Dzire now has its own identity and looks much more proportionate than ever before. However, despite an entirely different exterior and interior, the new Dzire still shares a lot with the Swift, including its variants and feature lineup. Following is a complete description of all the four variants in which the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire is on sale in India:
Variants and Prices
Currently, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire is available in a total of four variants – LXI, VXI, ZXI and ZXI+, just like its hatchback counterpart, the Swift. All these variants are offered as petrol-only cars, which get a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. However, an optional 5-speed AMT is offered from the VXI variant onwards.

Offered with both 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox options, this engine is capable of producing a maximum power output of 90 PS and a maximum torque output of 113 Nm. Thanks to auto start-stop feature, the engine returns excellent fuel efficiency figures as well.

Safety and Security Features
All the variants of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire come equipped with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, reverse parking sensors and ISOFIX mounts for child seats as standard. While the VXI variant adds in remote keyless entry and AMT-specific ESP with hill hold assist, the ZXI variant further adds front fog lamps and rear defogger. The range-topping ZXI+ variant has a reverse camera in addition.

However, the VXI variant adds in a whole bunch of features like a music system with four speakers, steering mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, height-adjustable driver’s seat, wheel caps, electrically adjustable outside rearview mirrors and rear power windows.
Coming to the ZXI variant, the Swift gets automatic climate control, alloy wheels, a push start-stop button and electrically foldable rearview mirrors in addition. The cruise control and LED projector headlamps with daytime running LEDs are reserved only for the ZXI+ variant.

|Maruti Suzuki Dzire
There are very few hatchbacks that have been able to challenge the supremacy of the Maruti Suzuki Swift. Currently, the Swift competes with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Maruti Suzuki Ignis.
