Yamaha YZF-R3 Launched @ INR 3.48 Lakh at Auto Expo 2018

Yamaha YZF-R3 gets a dual channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS); features a new 320.6 cc 2-pot 42PS engine.

India Yamaha Motor has today launched the all-new Yamaha YZF-R3 at ongoing Auto Expo 2018 at a price tag of Rs. 3.48 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This premium sports bike gets dual channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and will be sold at select Yamaha dealerships in India.

The attraction at the Yamaha YZF-R3 launch was the presence of Bollywood actor and Yamaha’s brand ambassador, John Abraham (Check John Abraham’s bike and car collection). As far as the premium sports bike’s engine is concerned, it is powered by a 320.6 cc, liquid cooled, 2-cylinder DOHC, four valve fuel injected engine that can produce 42 PS of peak power at 10,750 rpm and 29.6 Nm peak torque at 9000 rpm.

The dimensions of the YZF-R3 are 2,090 mm length, 720 mm width and 1,135 mm height. The seat height is positioned at 780 mm from the ground and the wheelbase measures 1,380 mm. The ground clearance of Yamaha YZF R3 is 160 mm.

The bike’s key feature is its newly designed engine with latest combustion analysis that ensures sufficient volume of air-fuel mixture intake. In addition, the 573mm long swingarm makes the YZF-R3 more stable by offering commendable balance between the drive axis position and engine performance characteristics.

For a sporty and comfortable ride, Yamaha YZF-R3 is offered with a Monocross type rear suspension which ensures greater wheel travel than the shock absorber stroke’s actual length. Moreover, Yamaha YZF-R3’s front and rear alloy wheels feature Metzeler Sportec M5 radial tyres of 110/70 R17 and 140/70 R17 respectively.

The motorcycle also gets a fully loaded instrument panel that features analog (needle) tachometer on the left and a digital speedometer on the right. At the centre, you will find a shift timing indicator lamp. Besides, the instrument panel also displays functions like fuel gauge, gear position indicator, average fuel economy and rear-time fuel economy indicators, water temperature gauge, 2 tripmeters, clock and oil change indicator.

Yamaha has offered the YZF R3 in two exciting colours – Magma Black and Racing Blue.
