2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio Price in india

The variant lineup of the Maruti Suzuki Celerio just got longer with the inclusion of a new range-topping ZXI+ trim. Read to find out what all features are present in the new Celerio.

To affirm its already strong position in the entry-level hatchback space, Maruti Suzuki launched the all-new second-generation model of the Celerio with a whole new design in and out and even a new powertrain under its hood. Except for the name, the new Celerio shares nothing with the model it has replaced. The newly launched version has a rounded design on the outside and additional premium features as compared to before. The car is available in a total of seven variants across four different trim levels and six colour options to choose from.

Engine Options

Under the hood, there is a new 1.0-litre three-cylinder K10C Dualjet petrol engine which is essentially the naturally aspirated version of the turbocharged petrol engine of the Baleno RS that was on sale in India.

With 67 bhp of power and 89 Nm of torque, the power and torque outputs of this new engine are somehow lesser than those of the erstwhile engine, which used to make 68 bhp of power and 90 Nm of torque. However, with an ARAI-claimed fuel efficiency of 26.88 kmpl, the new Maruti Suzuki Celerio has officially become the most fuel efficient petrol car in India.

The Celerio was the first car in India to get a cost-effective AMT gearbox, which it continues to retain apart from the standard 5-speed manual gearbox.

Variants on offer

The new Maruti Celerio has retained the three trim levels of LXI, VXI and ZXI from the previous model, and in addition, it also gets a new top-spec ZXI+ variant. All the variants are best described as follows:

VXI/VXI AMT – For those who want decent safety and security features

ZXI/ZXI AMT – For those who don’t want a car to feel like an entry-level ride with a decent level of equipment
