The refreshed Audi A8 L gets minor visual tweaks over the pre-facelift model it replaces. At the front, the new A8 L gets a re-profiled front fascia, where the grille and fog lamp housings now look bolder with abundant use of chrome. The fog lamp housings, while getting new LED fog lamps, also get revised air intakes to their side. The grille here has grown larger and gets new small vertical chrome slats for the mesh.

The Celebration Edition variant of the new Audi A8 L gets HD Matrix LED headlamps, which are the same units present in the pre-facelift version of the car. However, the higher-spec Technology variant is offered with new digital matrix LED headlamps, which have individual beams coming from micro-mirrors.  Both the variants get new sets of 19-inch machined alloy wheels and OLED tail lamps with an LED light bar across the width of the boot lid.

Just like the exterior, the interior of the new Audi A8 L also receives minimal changes, all of which have made its cabin more luxurious and tech-packed than ever before. At the front, the new Audi A8 L continues to get a floating 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 8.6-inch touchscreen panel below it for the controls of climate control and various functions for seats. Two 10.1-inch infotainment screens operating on the latest MIB 3 software are mounted on the back of the front seat headrests, which serve as a rear entertainment package for the occupants seated at the back.

While the Celebration Edition variant is a five-seater car as standard, the Technology variant is available as both a four-seater and five-seater car. The Technology variant gets a split rear cabin with two individual seats in the four-seater variant.

2022 Audi A8 L – Mechanical Updates

Like the outgoing version, the refreshed Audi A8 L gets a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine as its standard powertrain for the Indian car market. Assisted with mild-hybrid technology and Quattro all-wheel-drive system, this engine is offered with an 8-speed automatic transmission and produces 340 PS of maximum power and 500 Nm of maximum torque. While the car has an electronically restricted top speed of 250 kmph, it can cover the 0-100 kmph sprint in 5.7 seconds.

The new Audi A8 L retains the standard air suspension from the pre-facelift model, though the Technology variant can now be selected with a predictive air suspension, which uses the front camera for checking the roads ahead and adjusts the suspension setting according to it. The buyers can also opt for all-wheel steering at an added amount.

2022 Audi A8 L – Competition

The new Audi A8 L will continue to pose a challenge to the top-of-the-line flagship sedans from other carmakers, such as Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7-series, Lexus LS, Maserati Quattroporte and Porsche Panamera.
