Compared to other cars from Tata Motors, the Tata Punch has different terminology for all of its variants. The micro-SUV from Tata is available in four variants – Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative. Apart from a standard 5-speed manual, there is an optional 5-speed AMT from the Adventure variant onwards.
The Tata Punch is also available in a Kaziranga Special Edition. Based on the top-spec Creative variant, the Kaziranga Special Edition gets an exclusive Grassland Beige paint scheme with gloss black roof and mirrors and new dual-tone upholstery with faux wood inserts on the inside. It is also available in both manual and AMT guises and gets all the features of the Creative variant in and out.

Engine and Transmission
The engine option powering the Tata Punch is a 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine, which is the same engine that powers other compact cars from Tata like Tiago, Tigor and Altroz. Available with the transmission options of 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT, this engine produces a maximum power output of 86 PS, while the peak torque output is rated at 113 Nm.

Safety and Security Features
Apart from the compulsory inclusions of dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and reverse parking sensors, the base Pure variant of the Tata Punch is also equipped with brake assist, ISOFIX mounts for child seats and segment-first brake sway control. While the Adventure variant adds follow-me-home headlamps and remote central locking, the Accomplished variant gets a reverse camera further. The top-spec Creative variant also has auto headlamps and rain-sensing wipers.

Comfort and Convenience Features
Out of all the variants, the top-spec Creative variant is understandably the best-equipped variant. In its best form, the Tata Punch is equipped with features like projector headlamps with daytime running LEDs, 16-inch machined alloy wheels, fog lamps, LED tail lamps and roof rails. It also gets a 7-inch TFT screen in the instrument console, driver seat height adjustment, push start-stop button, automatic climate control, tilt-adjustable steering wheel with audio and Bluetooth controls and electrically adjustable and auto foldable rearview mirrors. The best audio experience available in the Tata Punch variant lineup is a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, which is offered in higher-spec Creative and Accomplished variants. The mid-spec Adventure gets a rather basic 3.5-inch infotainment system. In addition, the top-spec Creative can also be specced with iRA connected car technology at an extra premium.
